An exhibition showcasing my love affair with landscapes from
The Blue Mountains, to Broken Hill, and Alice Springs to The Flinders Ranges.
The exhibition will  open at Links House, Bowral on Saturday 30th July & will include readings by poet and essayist Mark Tredinnick and Anthropologist and author Prof. Deborah Bird Rose.

Following the exhibition launch The Milk Factory Gallery and Links House will be hosting a special evening event: Landscape as the Beloved. 

This will be a unique opportunity to join the met & my 2 creative colleagues over dinner where the discussion shall range from the creative process & our mutual love & concern for landscape which is the inspiration behind much of our works. Deborah and Mark shall also be reading from some of their many works.
 Books will be available for sale and signing.
 
                 All are welcome at the opening of the exhibition.

Landscape as the Beloved


    Deborah Bird Rose is Professor of Social Inclusion  at Macquarie University & holds a Ph.D. in anthropology. She has worked with Aboriginal people in their claims to land, and in other decolonising contexts. She is the author of numerous books including : Reports from a Wild Country, Dingo Makes Us Human, Country of the Heart and her new book Wild Dog Dreaming.  Debbie will also be guest author at this years Brisbane Writer’s Festival.


        Winner of the Qld Premier’s Prize for his landscape memoir The Blue Plateau, Writing Teacher  Mark Tredinnick's work  has been published in literary journals here and overseas. He was the inaugural winner of the Blake Poetry Prize and he will be reading from his first published collection of poetry A Fire Diary.  Mark is also a champion and promoter of Nature Writing in Australia.

                                                         
Visitors to The Milk Factory will be familiar with Roland Hemmert’s artworks which have featured with us for the past 3 years. His successful solo Red Earth Country featuring his images of the country around Alice Springs was held in 2009. His works are to be found in private & corporate collections.
